Most dieters regain much of the weight they lose. But researchers in Providence, R.I., found that dieters can maintain weight loss by stepping on the scale every day and reacting quickly to cut back calories and boost exercise.
Personally, I find this method works for me. I weigh myself every morning as soon as I wake up to make sure I am not at least gaining anymore weight. I have maintained my recent 9 lb. loss so weighing myself daily keeps me on track. I think I would be horrified if I stepped on the scale after a few months to realize I gained back 5 lbs.
If I do gain weight, at least I could attack the problem right away by kicking up the exercise and realizing what I’ve been eating.
