I’m sure most people attempting to lose weight have asked the question of “How often should I workout?” Depending on who you ask or where you do research, there really isn’t one answer to this question. The good news is that it doesn’t require a whole lot of exercise to lose weight.
For the average person wanting to lose weight:
- Cardio: 3 days a week for 20 – 30 minutes.
- Strength Training: 2 – 3 days a week for 20 – 30 minutes.
I think that is more than manageable, especially if you are not a big fan of exercise. This of course needs to be in combination with a healthy eating plan in order to lose weight. For absolute beginners who haven’t performed exercise in a very long time, it is best to start off really slow (after getting clearance from your doctor) by walking for 5 – 10 minutes and progressing until you can walk a full 30 minutes.
