It is rare that I leave the house without a bottle of water in hand. I have a couple of Nalgene bottles that I take with me when I am traveling around town but the problem with those is that they don't keep my water cold. I add ice but on a very hot day, the water is warm by the time I'm ready to drink it. When I received my sample Thermos® Under Armour insulated bottle, I was excited to see if it would keep my water cold for a much longer period of time. First, I'll start off with the bottle's features and specifications before I get into my review.
Bottle Specifications
Under Armour has released an entire line of new hydration bottles - some of them featuring the Thermos® vacuum insulation technology. The bottle I received is the: Beyond Vacuum Insulated Hydration Bottle.
- Thermos® vacuum insulation for maximum temperature retention
- Unbreakable stainless steel interior and exterior
- Locking flip-top lid with one hand push button operation
- Flip-up carrying loop
- Ergonomic design
- Leak-proof
- Capacity: 18 oz
- Dimensions: 2.93" W x 2.93" D x 10.13" H
- Keeps beverages cold for 12 hours
What I Like About the Bottle

I tested this bottle over the weekend. Before I headed out to run my usual Saturday errands, I put ice cold water into it. When I got to my car, I was happy to find that it fit perfectly into my cup holder, making it easy to grab a drink anytime. Another cool feature is the flip-top lid. Unlike my nalgene bottles, where I need two hands to untwist the cap, the Under Armour bottle only requires one hand to push the lid button. There is no worry about the lid being open by mistake because there is a lock that can be used to prevent accidental openings.
This particular bottle is supposed to keep your beverages cold for 12 hours. I knew my short trip around town wouldn't be an issue. I was out running errands for about 4 hours and my water was still cold once I got home.
Other things I like about this bottle is that it is stainless steel which makes it extra durable. It is also dishwasher safe making it easy to clean. The bottle design is also nice - it is easy to grip and hold.
Downside to this Bottle
The only downside I see to this particular bottle is its capacity. 18 oz may not be enough liquid for some people, especially if you're working out hard. However, they do have a larger 24 oz vacuum insulated bottle and 32 oz (non-insulated) squeeze bottle. You can view the entire line at http://www.thermos.com/underarmour.aspx

I tried stainless steel bottles before, but I didn’t like the taste of the water after it’s been there for a while. So I went back to glass bottles, the water is much better for me
