After my week long experiment of abstaining from meat, I did go back to my meat eating ways Friday and Saturday. I had lamb for dinner on Friday and turkey on Saturday. Although deep down inside I wanted to remain vegetarian, I gave into my cravings. I’ve decided not to be so hard on myself and only eat meat on the weekends. It’s easier to only eat meat on Fridays and Saturdays, then go back to vegetarian for the rest of the week beginning on Sundays.
What I am hoping is that I’ll begin to become more used to being meat free that by the time the weekends roll around, I’ll want to stay that way. The next thing I’d like to kick or extremely cut back on is sugar. I don’t think I’m that bad but I still eat way more than I should. After a eating meat all of my life, it isn’t as easy to kick as I would like. It helps to read up on the benefits of being vegetarian as it gives me motivation as I work towards my goal.
