I missed posting the last couple of days but haven't missed my workouts. Thursday I ran and followed Gilad in the afternoon. On Friday I took a break and trained on the weight machines for legs and arms. That brings me to my new favorite tricep workout which is the tricep rope. Heather showed me how to use this because when I first tried, I was doing it completely wrong.
Her former personal trainer showed her the proper technique which is to grab a hold of each end of the rope, standing with your feet together, you pull the rope down just enough to where your arms are parallel to the floor. That is highest you ever want the rope to go because as you pull down, you pull the rope apart, meaning your right hand is pulling one end to the right and your left hand is pulling the other end to the left. As you release, you stop your arms again parallel to the floor. It's important not to go very high as this isolates the tricep.
After about 3 sets (15 reps a piece) your triceps will be sore the next day. I really like using the tricep rope more than the other tricep machines in the gym. That and dumbbells provide more of a tricep workout than the machines in my opinion.
