Sweet! I love it!! As a trainer i think people need a little crap slung in there ears! They are used to people saying, "o, you are working so hard with your 2mph walk for 20 mins, that's all you need to do'" Bullshit! I see it everyday at the facility i work at, people show up walk through the motions and 6 months later and they are fatter than ever!! You got to sweat and work hard for that goal! Keep up the work!

I prefer to motivate myself. But if I had to choose, I'd definitely go with a tough trainer.

It all just depends on the type of trainer that you get. You have to get one that fits your personality and fitness goals. I think a lot of people don't really give it any real thought about what type of trainer should they use.

I have found that sometimes the trainers are too hard on people just getting started. This can actually turn people away from their weight loss goals because they think its too difficult and might go back to their old habits. I have seen trainers push their clients from the very first day and its too taxing for someone who didnt even know what fitness was, to suddenly have to run a mile or two every day right from the first week.

Wow! My clients think I'm tough. I also don't take excesses and want 100% every time you show up. However, I also give encouragement and recognition to people for their efforts and achievements. If you want to chit-chat, go to L.A. Fitness. If you want results, you come to my Boot Camp.

That guy is a beast! To answer the question - some people need a tough trainer, some people need a nice trainer. As a PT, I have learned the hard way, get it wrong and you're one client down!

This guy is great - very effective for those who respond better to the stick than the carrot. And that is the secret of his success. He might get people who don't respond to his methods and style, but they won't last long – they'll either jump or be pushed pdq.

So "horses for courses" if you want "easy fitness" don’t go here. But if you really want a good, honest HARD workout, this guy is great.

I always considered my martial arts teacher as something of a trainer. If I'm not doing something right, he tells me. If I could be doing something with a little more effort, he tells me. If I'm doing something right, he tells me that too. As far as being tough or nice, I guess just like anything in life I would need a balance.
