Strengthening Your Core with Plank Exercises

ADVERTISEMENTS

August 23, 2007

Your core is made up of your lower back, hips, and abdominals. Your core muscles help to support your spine and provides stability as well as balance. When your core muscles are weak, other muscles in your body make up for it. Lack of core strength can often lead to lower back pain.

I think developing core strength is often overlooked. It is easy to work on arms, legs, and cardiovascular, but without a strong core, the effectiveness of performing those activities is lowered. Below is a great example of the plank exercise which is a really good exercise for developing core strength. I am going to begin incorporating it into my exercise routine.

Great suggestion, they really do help build core strength, which is an essential ingredient of being fit.

If you can do these, you could probably do Tiger Pushups, which are VERY hard.

And WOW, the lady in the video is beautiful and has a nice accent!!!!

Hi Doug! Thanks for stopping by. I have never heard of tiger push-ups. I’m going to have to find out about those.
