There is an infomercial making its way through the television airwaves for a product called The Bender Ball. It is a rubber ball that you can use to perform crunches and other various exercises. However, this isn't a new concept. I do the same thing using a larger stability ball and there are other fitness balls on the market for a much lower price. The difference with this product is that it comes with different training kits depending on how much you want to spend.
These type of fitness balls come in various sizes. I have the larger sized stability ball and I use it for crunches, push-ups, bicep curls, and tricep exercises to name a few. Just imagine using it with dumbbells the way you would on a flat bench.
Having various sizes of stability balls can serve different purposes. The smaller sized ones are great for crunches and that is mainly how The Bender Ball markets itself. They focus on having great abs but what people forget or do not realize is that you can't spot reduce your stomach if you have a layer of fat covering your abs. You've got to lower your body fat before your abs will show.
Most gyms will have stability balls in all sizes. Other names for the smaller sized versions include pilates ball and FitBALL.
There are a lot of exercises that you can perform with just a stability ball. Check them out on YouTube.
