It can happen to all of us - you're starving, running late, and need food now and the only options are fast food restaurants. We know that almost all fast food restaurants don't offer the healthiest of meals but if you go in prepared, you can probably save yourself some fat and calories by knowing what to order.

I discovered this helpful web site called Fatburgr. It lists several popular fast food restaurants and the calories, fat, carbs, and fiber of their menu items. The cool thing is if you are an iPhone user, you can download their app and if you find yourself in a fast food place, you can pull up the data instantly.

This is good to know considering some menu items that sound healthy like a grilled chicken salad can still have over 1,000 calories in some restaurants.

Hello,

I’ve been weight training for a long time now but have purely focused on my exercise and not so much on my nutrition.

I will use fatburgr to help regulate my intake of fatty foods.

Thanks for the excellent resource =)

These are the kind of tips that my dietician uses for her nutritional counseling sessions. Thanks for the site!

This is gonna come in handy for me. That’s so true about how many people think just because it’s grilled or it’s a salad that’s it’s okay. I remember in the movie Super Size Me, the chef salad (I think) was the 2nd fattest item on the whole Mcdonald’s roster.

Because of my long work hours I eat fast-food almost every day for 2 years now. Despite I work out few times a week I gain about 5 kilos during this 2 years. All fat is stored on my stomach area – of course. It is time to finish with that, fatburg.com scared me out of the fast-food, thanks :)

Salads get up in the calories as a result of the salad dressing, which can be full of sugar and fat. Too bad they don’t have Chipotle listed on that website, you’d be surprised at how many calories their burritos have. Depending on what you put on your burrito, it can be 400 – 900 calories. Yikes!

There are just some of those times we just can’t get away from those fast food restaurants and I am so glad you provided this website for your visitors to check out.
Before eating out I always prepare ahead of time as to what I will order. Don’t think that you can’t have them change up their menu. You have a right to decide what you want on your sandwich or your salad etc…so don’t be afraid to order things the way you want them.
Great post!
