Navy Seals’ Fitness for Civilians

When you think of someone who is in great shape a few people may come to mind: athletes, personal trainers, aerobics instructors, or even someone close to you. However, some of the top fit people around are the Navy Seals. Their physical fitness training is intense and the University of Minnesota offered civilians the chance to test their fitness levels against Navy Seal’s standards.
The standards included:
- 500 yard swim in 10 minutes
- 11 pull-ups
- 80 push-ups
- 80 sit-ups
- Mile and a half run in less than 10 minutes
I think this is a fun way for people to challenge themselves to get in better shape. I can work on the push-ups and sit-ups but the pull-ups are another story. I’ve never been able to to do even one pull-up. It would take a lot of practice and upper body workouts to achieve that goal.
