I am a Team Beachbody coach and a huge reason I got involved with the company is because of their home fitness programs like P90X. Another reason is because I was interested in getting a good workout at home because I had quit my local gym around the time I got started. I was tired of paying monthly fees and driving to the gym. I figured I could get just as good a workout at home and when I tried P90X, I realized even more so that it was true.
The company is constantly putting out excellent workout programs on DVD. What I like about the programs is that they never become old for me. I still bust out the first Tony Horton workout: Power 90 (the predecessor to P90X) when I want a basic cardio and lifting routine.
The most recent one that is soon to be released has really grabbed my interest. I have always been more of a cardio fan but I like doing most of my resistance exercise using my own body weight. This new workout called Les Mills Combat is based around MMA (mixed martial arts) and HIIT. What caught my attention are the moves - check out a brief preview:
What Les Mills Combat is About
The program is based around the MMA fighter type of workout. It is a rapid weight loss and body-sculpting system that combines mixed martial arts–inspired workouts with high intensity interval training to help get you lean and ripped. Les Mills Combat is based on a combination of 6 martial arts—boxing, kickboxing/muay thai, taekwondo, capoeira, karate, and jiu jitsu.
This is the type of workout I like. HIIT (high intensity interval training) combined with martial arts moves and using your own body weight for resistance. I know I'm going to sweat with this one.
Just like Insanity, this is considered an extreme workout and is also a 60-Day program. It includes 7 workouts on dvd, a program calender, nutrition guide, and 2 free bonuses (one of which is a workout shot live in the UK.) The even cooler part is that it is around $60 and has a 60-day money back guarantee.
I'm looking forward to its release. It looks tough but also looks like a lot of fun which works well for me, because I like variety. It helps to keep me motivated and want to exercise.
