I think it's importnat to remeber that you can move these machines outside too - great when the weather's good. Personally, I'll be moving my trainer outside while the world cup is one - nothing like workin up a sweat whilst wathcing foorball (I'll have the TV by the wondow as I sit in the garden). Good post!

I own a Road bike and put it to great use over the winter. This past couple months i was training 1 hour a day with 5 min Intensity intervals. I would have a 20 min warm up and a 20 min cool down. I LOST 30 lbs AND COUNTING! Time goes by fast when your watching your favorite TV shows.... but lets be honest, the TV is not going to kick you off your bike saddle! In my opinion it really helps when you listen to some of your favorite Workout music.

I use my Reebok bike steadily for 60 mins; I swing my arms back and forth while I am on the bike just like I would if I was running. I have been exercising 4 times a week for 90mins a full body work out with added stomach crunches and sit ups I have been at it for a month now but I have not seen very much results :( yet. I am determined and have high ambitions for myself to keep going. It can be discouraging when you don't see very much in a result. However, I keep telling myself to keep going and the time will come to see the results I want.

That is pretty cool you can just put your existing bike onto the device. I had a look in the UK though and they seem quite a bit more expensive then those on amazon.com, I guess I shouldn't be surprised!

This is a great idea. I recently found my old Schwinn (http://schwinnusa.com/allschwinn_3403201_B0021I150I_Schwinn-Coronado-Womens-Comfort-Bike-26-Inch-Wheels.html) in my garage and suddenly missed riding my bike! But since it's cold out, I can't take it out to exercise. I'm running on my old treadmill instead (which is also great, because I love running).

This is a great idea for when I want to exercise on my bike but can't go outside for one reason or another. Thanks!

Some people love to cycle outside, depending on the environment, but I go to gym, there is indoor cycling as well, I do it every time I go to gym, it helps you lose weight and gain muscles and metabolism, that's the main reason I use it. But yes you can use old bikes for this, it's really good and useful.

Hey this is a great idea. I have always loved bicycling but hate to go outside and do it. So, I guess this would be the right thing for me. Riding the bicycle helps one to have a cute and tight butt...lol!

I use one of the training DVDs recommended here - they're an excellent buy and make training sessions great - much better than just watching TV!
