Funny Sounding Exercises and How to Do Them

There are a ton of body weight exercises out there that have funny names. Every now and then I will be reading an article and come across some of these names and wonder what the heck they are. I've compiled a list of some of the ones I've heard of and included sample videos of how to do them. Keep in mind that many of these are considered advanced and require a lot of strength.

Pistol Squat
Craig Ballantyne demonstrates how to do this one-legged squat. This is a really tough one and requires a lot of strength.

Donkey Kicks
These are great for the hamstrings and glutes.

Duck Walk
I haven't tried this one yet but it looks tough.

Sumo Squat
Great for the quads.

Star Jumps
I bet these tire you out the same way as burpees and mountain climbers.

Inchworms
Another tough one.

Do you perform any of these or others that many people don't usually hear of?

Hi – interesting post. I am partial to names that better explain the exercise like “1 leg dumbbell squat”. Check out the video demonstration (the exercise is like the name).
