FDA Approves Cloned Livestock

This article on CNN makes me nervous:
FDA: Cloned livestock is safe to eat
Over the years, I have become much more aware of my meat consumption. Simply due to health issues and the fact that I’d read articles about the dangers of eating meat and the chemicals that may be pumped into them to bulk them up, etc. However, I’ve eaten meat all of my life and even when I tried to go cold turkey (pun intended) and quit eating it, I just couldn’t resist. I then decided to cut back which definitely helped.
Now you can find articles all over the net either protesting the eating of meat or encouraging it. But all it takes is a little common sense and what you feel is right for yourself. After reading the article on CNN, it makes me even more skeptical about my meat eating ways. Although the article states that the chances of cloned animal products making it into our food supply is low, the fact that it can happen freaks me out. There just doesn’t seem to be enough information out there about the possible dangers of cloning animals. You may even be wondering why they need to be cloned in the first place. Here is the reason so far:
Cloning lets farmers and ranchers make copies of exceptional animals, such as pigs that fatten rapidly or cows that are superior milk producers.
It all comes down to the bottom line of course. It seems to me too much engineering is taking place and I’m sure there is more that I have never even heard of. With this new FDA approval in mind, how do you feel about eating meat?
