For many people, fat loss is an elusive beast. They know that it's possible and have seen it in others, but have yet to find the way to get it going for themselves.
Luckily, I'm going to let you in on 5 tips that will help you boost your metabolism and finally get the body you desire:
#1. Burn fat at the supermarket by shopping full. Many people make the mistake of going to the supermarket hungry. When you do that, you'll be more prone to buy junk and foods that you shouldn't be eating. By doing that, you've already set yourself up for failure before you've even begin dieting. If bad foods are around your house - you'll eat them. So don't buy them at the supermarket, and keep them out of your home.
#2. Sprint. High intensity interval training has been shown to boost fat loss and improve your bodies metabolism. What you do is sprint for 50 meters or 55 yards, and rest for 30 seconds and repeat 4-8 times depending on your fitness level. The cool thing about this exercise is not only will it help you lose fat, but it will also give you a strong butt.
#3. Swim. Swimming is one of those things that everyone knows is amazing but everyone is reluctant to talk about. It is excellent for a few reasons. For one, it is one of the highest calorie burning activities that a human being can participate in. It also strengthens you while relaxing you at the same time. And lastly, knowing you're going to be in your bathing suit is a great motivator to get into great shape.
#4. Hang out with fit people. Peer pressure affects all of us, and hanging out with fit people and emulating their lifestyle is a great way to ensure that you'll get in amazing shape. When you are with people who are eating healthily and exercising - chances are that you will as well.
#5. Keep trying. The most important tip that I can give you is to keep trying. Even if something doesn't seem to be working in the beginning or you're frustrated, you need to just keep moving forward.
Good luck!

Thanks for letting me guest post Eartha! Your blog is getting better and better.
#4 is the best one for me. When you think as if, you act as if. It’s said that if you hang around millionaires, in 5 years you’ll be a millionaire too. The same holds true for health and fitness. If you spend all of your time around people who are serious about health and fitness, eventually you will be healthy and fit as well.
@Rafi – You’re welcome and thanks.
I agree 100% with hanging out with fit people. When you don’t, you tend to be less motivated to workout and eat right!
Great post.
I think I need to figure out how to put number 4 into affect. It’s going to be a little hard when it’s my own brother that doesn’t eat healthy.
Nice post!
I love to do swimming, but the fourth point is very beneficial and interesting to me. As I always try to get time for some hang outs and because of busy life style not able to manage that. But you have suggested a very good way which will serve both the purpose for me 1 is get fitness tips 2 is hangout.
I have read a blog for weight loss tips and want to share that with you all. This blog also contains “Adnan Sami’s” weight loss tips.
#1 and #4 are both excellent psychology tactics that are extremely effective. By improving my shopping habits I have made some strong changes toward healthier diet in my life.
Great post, and #5 is my personal favorite. Too often, people are discouraged by not succeeding in their efforts too quickly, especially when it concerns fitness and weight loss. Being consistent over long periods of time is key here.
I’d personally also add these two tips:
#6. Lift weights. You mention some great exercises here, but pumping iron is my personal favorite for weight loss as studies have shown that better developed muscles increase the body’s metabolism and help burn off calories faster even while remianing sedentary.
#7. Keep busy. This is my personal favorite out of all the diet tips that I know of, since most of the time, taking in more calories is a result of poor planning. Whenever we haveempty downtime, the tendency is to reach for something to munch on while doing something to relax, such as watching TV, surfing the net or playing video games. Keeping busy all the time with a clear focus on not over-snacking can greatly help us steer clear of such tendencies.
I agree with all 5 tips you told specially swimming. I really like swimming, swimming is the best exercise to loose fat from whole body.
me too i like swimming, it helps you to burn fats quick, and its fun!
I agree that point #4 is a good one that is often overlooked. Being around people who share the same goals as you goes a long way.
In my experience, if you really what to shed the fat fast. Interval training @ high intensity seem to work best for getting rid of those unwanted pounds. Plus, hydration is a MUST. Somewhere between 10-12 8 oz of water a day.
These are some great tips. I can especially see number 1 being extremely helpful. Walking through aisles upon aisles of food can be very enticing.
