Happy Friday! This is just my observation but I think there is a camaraderie amongst fitness-minded individuals. There is a bike trail that we ride on several times a week and I’ve noticed that many other bike riders are really friendly. As we pass some of them coming in the opposite direction, they usually yell out a hello or hi as we ride by. I’ve noticed the same thing when I run outside as well. Many runners will say hi or nod their heads as I run past.
I find this very motivating because if you are having a particularly bad day or just not feeling like you’re having a good workout, seeing other people doing what you’re doing can give you that extra push. It makes exercising outdoors even more fun.
Regular exercise is known for the that are released which causes that happy feeling or what you may have heard as the “runner’s high.” I know that exercise puts me in a better mood because sometimes, I feel really crappy when I don’t exercise. There are many advantages to regular exercise and besides maintaining overall health, I think being in a better mood is one of the top advantages for me.
