Changing Up Workout Routines

Cardio: Elliptical 40 minutes
Strength Training: 20 modified push-ups
I tried something different today. Instead of my usual 2 - 3 mile run on the treadmill, I decided to challenge myself on an elliptical machine. I kept the level at 5 for the most part and brought it down to 3 when I began feeling exhausted. It really brought up a sweat, as much sweat as when I run on a treadmill. According to the machine, I even burned over 200 calories. I hope it was somewhat accurate.
I started off late today so I didn’t get to hit the weight machines at all. I may try to work out my legs tomorrow. I can always work out my arms at home with dumb bells. It was nice changing up my routine. Keeping to the same type of workout is part of the reason many people quit before they make any real progress. I’ll probably try it again tomorrow and go for a full hour. It’s more fun working out to my music on an elliptical than it is running.
I’ll probably stick to running for the most part. It is what I like the most and I’m still motivated by it.
