I have been wanting to purchase the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbell for quite some time now. The Bowflex Dumbbells 552 are the most popular adjustable dumbbells on the market today. Before I make any purchase, I tend to weigh the pros and cons before I commit to buying. From what I can tell, here are the pros and cons that I could come up with.
Pros:
- 15 sets of weights in one
- Adusts from 5 pounds up to 52.5 pounds (more than enough for the average user)
- Saves space
- 5 year warranty on plates, 2 years on parts
- I like the adjustment mechanism
Cons:
- Appear to be bulky (which could get in the way of some exercises)
- A bit overpriced in my opinion
- Mechanical parts mean more possibility of breaking
Overall this brand and model of adjustable dumbbells has received positive reviews. I think the biggest benefit is the space it will save in your home. That is a big plus for me as I barely have room to add major fitness equipment.
