You may have seen infomercials for the Ab Carver Pro and want to learn more about it. What makes it so special as compared to any other ab wheel on the market?
The Ab Carver Pro is no ordinary ab wheel. It begins with the design of the common ab wheel and takes it up a notch with a wider wheel, ergonomic hand grips, and a carbon steel spring. The Ab Carver Pro was created by former U.S. Navy SEAL, Alden Mills. He is also the creator of the Perfect Push-up and Perfect Pull-up.
Compared to the typical ab wheels, you will soon discover that a lot of thought was placed into this fitness product.
The Wider Wheel
If you are familiar with the common ab wheels, you’ll notice that the wheels are usually three times smaller in width than the Ab Carver Pro. I’ve used a regular ab wheel and they are not very easy to use.
If you’re a beginner, you’ll only be able to get out a few reps before you’re burned out. That isn’t much of an effective workout.
The wider wheel on the Ab Carver Pro creates more balance and the slight curve of the wheel makes it easier to carve left or right to really target your obliques.
The handles on the Ab Carver Pro are slightly slanted and that is for a specific reason. The slant engages your tricep muscles much more effectively while taking the focus off of the shoulders. There is also thumb placement for both upper placement (above the handles) or lower placement (below the handles).
Spring Coil Action
What makes the Ab Carver Pro really unique is the spring coil that is located inside. It is a carbon steel coil that provides resistance on the way out and assistance on the way back in.
This assistance that the coil provides is what makes it easier for beginners who may not have the core strength that is required to use the typical ab wheels.
Foam Knee Pads and Value
The Ab Carver Pro also includes foam knee pads. That is a nice extra even if you have carpet in your home. Chances are, you’ll be glad to have them when you are ready to workout.
This awesome ab wheel ranges between $30 and $40 retail. You may be tempted to get the typical ab wheels that are much cheaper, often ranging between $14 and $20. However, I have used these types of ab wheels and they are challenging to use.
Yes, you will still work your core muscles, but I felt fatigued with only a few reps. Beginner users may become frustrated with the average ab wheel.
Overall, I feel the Ab Carver Pro would make a great addition to any home gym. It’s small enough to travel with and you can use it in a small space. In terms of cost, I think it is reasonably priced for what it can do.
What do you think? Do you own the Ab Carver Pro or have you ever tried it?
