The following are 50 motivational tips to either keep you exercising or get you motivated to get started. They are in no particular order.
1. Invest in an iPod or other MP3 player.
2. Join a gym.
3. Learn a new sport.
4. Learn martial arts.
5. Train for a marathon.
6. Subscribe to fitness magazines.
7. Start a fitness blog.
8. Participate in fitness forums.
9. Take up running and train to run 7 minute miles (or less.)
10. Buy fitness dvd's and use them.
11. Create a home gym.
12. Take up strength training.
13. Become a bodybuilder.
14. Become a personal trainer.
15. Join a racewalking group.
16. Find a workout partner.
17. Set mini-goals and reward yourself after achieving them.
18. Teach your children about fitness.
19. Find bicycle routes and ride them.
20. Use fitness for charity (find sponsors for races, etc.)
21. Exercise for a new wardrobe.
22. Buy an awesome pair of running shoes (and run!)
23. Buy cool workout clothes to train in.
24. Write in training logs and monitor progress.
25. Keep a video diary of progress.
26. Start interval training (bodyweight exercises that are short and effective.)
27. Pick a celebrity physique as inspiration and work towards it.
28. Buy a bikini or swim suit in your goal size and work towards it.
29. Take photos of your progress (weight loss) and review them constantly.

31. Find or create obstacle courses and try to beat your best times.

33. Write yourself a contract of your fitness goals and set a deadline.

36. Download fitness videos to your iPod.

39. Make a promise to someone you love about working out (and don't break your promise!)

some great tips there. I love the one about writing yourself a contract! my best tip would be find a friend to train with and help each other – there’s always days you feel less motivated so having a friend thats relying on you, and encouraging you is the perfect motivation.

@james – having a training buddy always helps, especially to push each other to keep going.
and training with a friend actually make going to the gym into a very sociable experience- rather than pounding away on the treadmill alone!
